#110: A Lesson in Collective Liberation with Iye Loves Life

“Taking a step back and really listening on a regular basis can make a huge impact in developing yourself as a person and also in just connecting with others. People will love you more when they know you care about them.” -Iye Loves Life

Iye learned about a plant-based diet when a family member was struggling with a health issue, but it wasn’t until she saw some difficult images depicting the treatment of animals on factory farms that she got angry and decided to take it up a notch. Now Iye is an animal activist and has used her presence on social media to bring attention to the plight of animals.

Iye is sweet, but confident and passionate. In this episode of Veggie Doctor Radio, I interview Iye about her vegan journey and why she fights for collective liberation.

We discuss:

  • What inspired her vegan journey

  • How her perception of injustice took her to the next level

  • The definition of collective liberation

  • What she has experienced as a woman of color in the vegan movement

  • What she wishes more people knew

  • The personal habit she is most proud of
