#144: Modern Friendship with Dr. Shainna Ali (Relationship Series)

“Friendships are powerful.” -Dr. Shainna Ali

Dr. Shainna Ali is back on the podcast during the month of February, but this time it is to talk about FRIENDSHIP. I personally have struggled with friendships during my life and I know how it can lead to heartache and pain, but I also realize how very important friends are for our wellbeing.

In this episode of Veggie Doctor Radio, Dr. Shainna and I discuss modern friendship and the important thing that we can start doing now to improve our friendships.

We discuss:

  • Why friendships are important for our health and wellbeing

  • The components of a healthy friendship

  • Reasons why we may be having more difficulty making friends

  • Life circumstances that make it harder to make and sustain friends

  • If we are “too busy” for friends

  • How social media and technology has impacted friendships

  • Mode of communication and friendships

  • Typical problems that friends face

  • How to handle conflicts between friends that have arisen with recent political and philosophical differences

  • What she wishes more people knew about friendships
