#148.5: How This Songwriter is Using Her Music to Change the World

“I wish people would question more what they’ve been told.” -Vegan Queen V

Vegan Queen V (Jen Armstrong) has been vegetarian as a child, but her eyes were opened to the realities of factory farming only a few years ago when she decided to become vegan. She chose to use her pain to create beautiful moving music that impacts others. She is now working on her first album that will be released this year!

In this episode of Veggie Doctor Radio, I interview Vegan Queen V about her journey and we get to listen to one of her beautiful and gripping songs.

We discuss:

  • Her vegan journey

  • When she started using her songwriting as vegan activism

  • What kind of reactions her music has garnered so far

  • What songs she is most proud of

  • Her song “What Hell is Like”

  • What she envisions for her music career

  • What she wishes more people knew

  • How other creatives can use their art to help the vegan movement

  • What habit she is most proud of

  • Her favorite vegan meal

More about my honored guest:

Vegan Queen V is a passionate animal rights activist singer-songwriter, who uses her music as a platform to give animals a voice, when they often have none.

Vegan Queen V is keen to raise awareness of the animals lives, and spread the vegan message far and wide with her hit songs and hard-hitting lyrics.

Winner of the VEGFESTUK competition 2018, she has travelled the UK playing vegan festivals and gigs up and down the country.

2019/2020 saw her collaborate with vegan celebrity Niko Rittenau, with which she toured The Veggie World Tour Germany.

We are excited to announce, Vegan Queen V is set to release her debut album in 2021, with the hope to reconnect people to the animals and promote veganism. @veganqueenv
